Where to begin? Naturopathy encompasses a number of modalities, particularly herbal medicine and nutrition, to help identify and support acute and chronic illnesses and imbalances within the body.

At Nutmeg Naturopathy, I see all kinds of health imbalances and concerns, from women’s health, skin health, general well-being, stress and adrenal health to digestive disturbances, fatigue, sleep issues, immune health, allergies and intolerances, weight imbalances and so much more.

As a Naturopathic health practitioner, I support a number of acute and chronic conditions in the Nutmeg office. I do have a particular love and interest for helping women and those with skin issues, gut imbalances, building healthy relationships around food/body image, natural fertility, thyroid health and adrenal imbalances (e.g. stress, anxiety, ‘adrenal fatigue’). Stress and Adrenal Health

There are not many patients I see that don’t have some kind of stressor contributing to their health concerns. Stress can basically weave its way in to any of our bodily systems and run a muck. It can not only have a great impact on our mental health but our skin health, gut health, energy levels, sleep patterns, cardiovascular health, hormonal health, digestive health, immune health, weight management and much more. Have you ever noticed that you may experience gut-related symptoms during times of increased stress? Or perhaps poorer quality sleep? Or you always seem to get sick when you are stressed? Yep. They are all connected.

It is so important to acknowledge the impact that stress may be having on your physical and mental well-being. Your Relationship with Food

Having my own food and body image challenges in the past and being diagnosed with a restrictive eating disorder, I know what it is like to be in a place of mental and physical dis-eased health. I have learnt how nutrition, herbal medicine and other holistic principles have the power to help and enable our body and mind to thrive. I feel my personal experiences have played a significant role in why I am SO passionate about supporting and educating individuals about the vital role our beautiful wholefoods and lifestyle choices play in our overall health and well-being.

I actively promote consuming a nourishing wholefoods diet, whilst maintaining the ‘all in moderation’ way of eating and life in general. Following particular ‘diets’ is just not my thing. We must learn to appreciate and love who we are, nourishing ourselves (and all our cells) on a daily basis, whilst enjoying all the beautiful things life has to offer.
