Why Did I Become a Naturopath?

Hi!

I wanted to introduce myself properly in blog form. Who am I and why do I do what I do? (and love it!!)

My Personal Vision;

To bring all those I have the pleasure of building a connection with (including myself), improved overall mental and physical well-being.

To treat each and every person I meet with kindness, compassion, an open heart, knowledge and endless support.

To be mentally and physically strong, stable, knowledgeable and open to sharing that knowledge.

To educate and empower those around me to take control of their health and happiness.

To never stop learning, laughing and being true to myself.

Who am I?

Hello. I am a Sydney-based Naturopath and my name is Phoebe Jobson. I am a lover of all things good food, coffee, dancing until my heart is content and spending time with my most special people. I am a deeply passionate Naturopath accredited by the Australian Traditional Medicine Society. I hold an Advanced Diploma of Naturopathy from Nature Care College, Sydney. I also hold a Bachelor of Arts Degree Majoring in Psychology from Macquarie University. I support a number of acute and chronic conditions, having a particular love and interest for helping women and those with skin issues, gut imbalances, building healthy relationships around food/body image, thyroid health and stress/fatigue. As a mum myself, I am also knowledgeable when it comes to children's health and wellbeing.

My treatment approach is holistic, realistic and individualised, with an emphasis on diet and lifestyle - the foundations of our health.

How Did I Get Here?

Growing up, all I knew was that I wanted to help people. How? I wasn’t sure. After completing my BA Psych degree (and quite frankly, feeling totally lost), I had an itch for the natural health industry, a true passion and lifestyle of mine. I enrolled at Nature Care College in 2014 and never looked back. When I started these studies, I was in the absolute depths of a long-term battle with my restrictive eating disorder. Alongside determination + Psychological therapy, I know these studies were key in my FULL recovery. Learning about all things health, our bodies, nutrition and more, really was the pinnacle to unravelling all my deep-rooted misconceptions about food, our bodies and what constitutes true health.

Having had these challenges in the past, I know what it is like to be in a place of mental and physical dis-eased health. I have learnt how nutrition, herbal medicine and other holistic principles have the power to help and enable our body and mind to thrive. I am SO passionate about supporting individuals and helping them take care of their precious health. We must learn to appreciate and show some love to who we are, nourishing ourselves on a daily basis. Helping others add health, happiness, and soul back in to their lives truly makes my heart sing. Each and every one of us is on a different health journey, I am here to help support, build and energise that journey.

How Do I Practice as a Naturopath?

My goal is to inspire, educate and empower those I have the privilege of meeting, to take hold of their health and well-being. For me, health is not just the absence of disease, but being the best version of ourselves we can possibly be, both mentally and physically. Without our mental & physical health, we are stripped of all other beautiful things in life. We depend on (and often take for granted) our health. Without it, where would we be?

I utilise functional testing where necessary and work alongside GP's and specialists in order to provide thorough, collaborative care for my clients. I refer to reputable allied health practitioners and specialists when necessary to ensure integrative and well-rounded patient care.

I am currently available at Darling Health on Mondays and my Mosman clinic, Nutmeg Naturopathy, on Fridays and one Tuesday a month.
